Challenge

The DE-SO architectural firm called on acoustics specialists Agna and Arteck to find a customised solution within a short timeframe.

The challenge was to mitigate the noise pollution caused by the famous hammer blows in a very large space – the trunks are entirely handmade -, while respecting the architectural concept and codes of the luxury sector.

In the factory where Louis Vuitton luxury trunks are manufactured, noise levels were particularly high due to the industrial machinery used in the production process.

The main challenge was to reduce this noise pollution while preserving the functionality and aesthetics of the site. The difficulty was to design acoustic solutions which would not disrupt the architecture of the factory, while guaranteeing a comfortable and safe working environment for the craftsmen without compromising production efficiency.

Solutions

  • Design of acoustic solutions specifically adapted to an industrial environment.
  • Selection of high-performance materials to attenuate noise from machinery and reduce reverberation.
  • Integration of acoustic panels which satisfy Louis Vuitton’s aesthetic constraints and identity while being functional.
  • Collaboration with the technical teams to ensure that the acoustic solutions do not interfere with the manufacturing processes.
  • Acoustic solutions were designed to absorb noise effectively, while preserving the integrity of the site’s industrial design. Every choice of material and layout was made with respect for the working environment to improve sound comfort without disrupting the production flow.

Results

  • Significant reduction in noise levels throughout the plant, ensuring a calmer working environment.
  • Optimisation of the acoustics without compromising the visual appearance or functionality of the spaces.

The result is controlled acoustics, offering optimum sound comfort while enabling efficient production. The acoustic solutions blend harmoniously into the industrial environment, creating a more pleasant workspace while preserving the aesthetics and the efficiency of Louis Vuitton’s manufacturing processes.
